The Queen Mary trades her traditional Red and Black Cunard livery for Celtic Green – as Shamrock ‘N’ Roll returns to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Foot-stomping Irish tunes, cold pints of the black stuff and pub fare to rival Donegal’s best will be showcased by Irish bands The Fenians, Green Ashes and CP03.
The Queen’s Salon and Royal Salon will come alive with sounds of Irish folk, Celtic rock, fiddle rock, dance and world music, Irish drinking songs and more. A two-stage concert will feature non-stop music from 5PM-11PM. The Queen’s stage will feature Green Ashes, dubbed “best bets for live music on St. Patrick’s Day” by KCBS followed by The Fenians, winners of the “Best World Music” category at the Orange County Music Awards. These five local lads are as comfortable with a mandolin, pennywhistle, uilleann pipes, accordion, saxophone, bass, electric guitar and drums as a leprechaun is with a pot of gold. Local favorite CPO3 will perform favorite hits from the 60s to today in the Royal Salon.
Festivities include friendly trivia competitions with Shamrock Yer Noggin’ and the Luck O’ the Irish contests. Shamrock ‘N’ Roll is a 21+ event on Tuesday, March 17th from 5PM-11PM. Tickets are $15 online/$20 at the door. Parking is $5.
Grab ‘n’ Go stations and Observation Bar’s special menu will feature bangers ‘n’ mash, corned beef sandwiches and other traditional Irish food. “Take the elevator home” package includes a stateroom aboard, two tickets to Shamrock ‘N’ Roll & a souvenir cup.
