The Spot Cafe is Long Beach’s latest addition in restaurant that specialize in healthy, but affordable food. The cafe is one of the only health conscious restaurants in the Belmont Shore area, in place of the old Naturewell juice bar. They are providing delicious food for everyone even those with special dietary needs. Some of their entrees include wood-fired pizzas, tacos, and paninis that have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
Besides being a great addition to the restaurants on 2nd street, The Spot Cafe has unique back story. Partners Mitchell Stein and Hugo Horta started the restaurant together after the birth of their sick daughter. Wanting to provide a “clean life” for their children, Stein and Horta, found it difficult and expensive. They figured if inexpensive health restaurants were hard to come by, others were probably having the same problem. So in 2013, the boys opened their own restaurant in Claremont that catered to their needs. After much success and praise, a second location soon opened in Upland.
The Spot Cafe is dedicated to helping people create a healthy and happy lifestyle. With their team of nutritionists, they are trained to help plan meals for weight loss and other dietary concerns. Each meal is created with detail to help ensure that cross contamination never happens. The cafe offers juice cleanses, online ordering options, and direct contact with the owners if the customer’s experience was not quite satisfactory. They also offer juice cleansing classes for beginners and samples before your purchase, making them unique when compared with other juice bars. The cafe’s goal is to not only provide the community with healthy, affordable food but clean and happy lifestyles.
